Self Storage Unit Gate

Be Prepared to Enter Your Self Storage Unit at the Gate

A-1 Self Storage | December 17, 2019 @ 12:00 AM

We take pride in our facilities and your peace of mind, which results in many procedures to maintain order. One of those procedures involves leaving your vehicle to enter your gate code, both when entering and leaving your units. This prevents people from driving up too fast and damaging gates and allows us to track all entries and exits.

What to do when you arrive at the facility

  1. Have your access code in mind or written down before you leave. We are always happy to help you if you forget, but knowing your code before arriving at the facility will save you time and frustration.
  2. When you arrive at a gated facility, pull up to the gate slowly. Once you reach the code box, remember to put your car in park! Step out of your car and punch in your code. The gate will open slowly, allowing you to re-enter your vehicle.
  3. Wait for the gate to open fully. Once it opens completely, you are free to enter!

*Important tip to remember: If someone opens the gate upon arrival, you still need to enter your gate code. We track all entries and exits to avoid any unwanted activity. Similarly, we ask you to call our office immediately if you notice anyone attempting to follow you.

What to do when you leave the facility

  1. Close and lock your storage unit door.
  2. Have your access code ready.
  3. Drive up to the gate slowly and put your car in park before exiting to enter your gate code.
  4. Punch in your code and reenter your car.
  5. Wait for the gate to open fully. When it opens completely, you are free to go! Again, even if the exit has already been opened, you still need to enter your gate code before leaving.

We are proud that you have chosen to store your belongings with us and will take any measures to maintain our integrity. We thank you for your support. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call one of our friendly storage experts!

*Not all locations require drive-through gate entry. Locations that do not require gate entry require an access code to enter.
